I grew up going to Bachelor but this is definitely much more family friendly and the prices are amazing! All the staff are super friendly and happy to answer any questions you might have. Great terrain for all experiences and the ski lessons are great! Instructors do a wonderful job and all seem happy to be there. Food is outstanding for what it is and the prices can’t be beat. Kids 10 and under can ride for free and the lodge has tons of seating and arcade games for anyone who needs a break from weather or are just tired. Definitely recommend coming here especially if you have a family that wants to learn.

I skied Hoodoo on a bluebird spring-like day in the 3rd week of March 2021, after having skied Mount Bachelor the four prior days. Having driven by Hoodoo on my way to Bend, and being an advanced skier, I had very low expectations for the mountain, and only went there because I was introducing two young lads to skiing and thought I would be on the easy-rider lift with them most of the day.
Fortunately for me, my pupils for the day took to skiing like ducks to water, and after two hours with them I was able to explore the rest of the mountian (except the NW facing terrain under the Hodag chair, which wasn't running that Friday).
I'm a life long skier and my favorite flavor is "steep & deep," but when I can't find that I'll take steep and skiable. So here is the big surprise about Hoodoo, Hoodoo has plenty of steep for a small mountain! In fact, if you are an advanced skier, it has plenty to keep you smiling and returning day after day. I would actually argue that this is perhaps the best 1000' vertical mountain I have skied in the US, and as someone who currently lives in the mid-Atlantic (sad, I know) I've skied a lot of small mountains.
My first run off the top of the mountain came down somewhere between Crater and the face, which is a huge wide-open above timberline-like area that is largely east-facing. It is reasonably steep and fantastic, you could ski just in that area all day long and be happy I am sure. Hoodoo's trail map doesn't show this well, by the way. Look at the mountain from Google maps or do a map image search. This small mountain has 360 degree skiing!
Check it out, I think you'll like it. I know I will be coming back.

Been in Oregon my entire life. I have been snowboarding for 25 years. I took my 17 year old son to Hoodoo for his first time snowboarding on 2/6/2021. Talk about a shitty experience!
1. The employees are very rude and have horrible attitudes.
2. Limited access to the facilities, pota potties where absolutely appauling. Piss and shit everywhere.
3. Limited food menu, and way over priced ($12 lettuce wrap?) not to mention they didn't even provide seating near where they served food.
4. They way they treat their customers and talk down to them regarding the required use of masks is absolutely unacceptable. The way the chair lift operates spoke to my underage son almost cost him his fucking teeth.
Bottom line, customer service doesn't exist any more! They don't value you or the hard earned money you spend to keep them employed and open.
I'll NEVER go to that shit hole again.

I visited my daughter and her family over Christmas from the East coast. During my visit, we came to HooDoo frequently as they are season pass holders. Both my daughter and son-in-law are expert skiers. Their six year old son has been skiing since he was three. He goes up the bigger slopes with his parents. His younger brother, age three, also loves skiing. He began ski lessons this year. I do not ski, but nevertheless, I enjoyed this resort and it's amenities, especially for watching my grandsons off the slopes so that their parents could freely ski. This resort is family and kid friendly with fun things for all to do besides skiing. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the excellent views of the ski slopes from inside the comfort of the ski lodge!!!

It's been 30 years but it looks the same. Close reasonable pricing and a gorgeous day. If I could I'd do it again.

I've snowboarded here with my kids for a few years now and it never disappoints. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of an Olympic caliber mountain resort, but for the locals it's great. Easily accessible and well maintained Hoodoo is a local favorite.
