Red Lodge, although known for poor snow sometimes, always had some great things going for it. Now though it is understaffed, poor snow, and failure to open Cole Creek and Palisades until later in season. Those things are tough hurdles for RLM to overcome but I deal with those. RLM used to be known as a low key, chill ski hill that had great staff, great ski town and above all, an affordable lift ticket with discounts for poor snow and limited terrain open. Red Lodge is failing with its online system of lift tickets that are outrageously priced depending on holidays and high use times. With the resurgence of some Wyoming Ski Hills and great skiing at other places in Montana they are on the verge of losing many customers. I will occasionally frequent Red Lodge as I have for many years but only a few times per year. In addition, I know that marijuana is viewed differently by many in society today but to have a lifty grabbing a quick hit on a joint while families and kids in line is wrong. I am also done with season passes. Too expensive. I know many people's response will be how cheap compared to other locations, but increases are very high.
