Under-rated, high value mountain - skiing was solid, town is great, old-school mountain community.
No lines - ski a full day in 2-hours
Whitefish fog - skiers have to know what they are doing

Great mix of runs - fantastic place for beginner and intermediate skiers to learn and practice, but still has a lot off off-piste / powder runs that will keep advanced and expert skiers engaged
Short lift lines; Great groomers
Visibility not always great

Whitefish is a great place to ski. We might have gotten lucky, but our trip had good snow all 3 days. That said, there are few groomed runs and much of the steeper terrain contained moguls which was a bummer. The difficulty of the moguls is magnified by flat light and the notorious whitefish fog. If you can get into the trees, these issues are mitigated and there is a lot of fun to be had.
Short Lines, Friendly People, Fresh Snow Daily

We just returned from our annual Boys ski trip to Whitefish. It turned out.to be a bust. To begin our trip I was surprised by the language and quanity of signs on the mountain regarding the need to wear a mask. I was even more surprised by the staff's rude approach when pointing out and yelling at indivuals who's mask was not all the way above their nose. Keep in mind it was 11 degrees below zero. But my ulitmate dissappoint came when I purchased my lift ticket. We all paid full price but none of us were informed that they were not running but two chairlifts for the day? We got to ski intermediate and beginner runs all day on a cold and icy day. No Fun! I will not return. Whitefish found it so very importand to inform the visitor that they must wear a mask but had not signs or staff nottifying the customers that you were not gettting to ski the whole mountain but you will pay FULL price.

Just got back from my trip from the 14th-19th and I was happy. The SNOW Bus is a great resource from traveling between the resort and Whitefish (just make sure to board the bus from the Base Lodge, because it stops there first and fills up quickly). The resort offered plenty of variety with the terrain and over the course of my trip I was able to work my way up from the blue groomers up to the black diamonds on east rim. Most reviews talk about a lack of lines at the lift and that wasn't my experience at all. With so many people able to work remotely due to COVID, the surrounding area has become flooded with people from the west coast. The average wait time for Chair 1 was 15 min for me, and most other lifts were on par or sometimes worse. If you like moguls and trees, Chair 5 at the East Rim was by far my favorite to use because the line was always less than a minute's wait. Visibility was poor most days so make sure you're familiar with the trail map to prevent yourself from getting lost. I didn't see any reviews mentioning the terrain park, so I'll say that there are jumps going all the way from small to medium/large and plenty of rails and boxes.

Our visit was December 19-23 and we had a fabulous trip. The Whiefish area is out of a Hallmark movie very quaint and cozy. I really enjoyed the fact that there was a free snow bus to the mountain daily from 7AM to 5PM. The snow conditions were very favorable during our stay and the lift lines were maybe a 5 minute wait at it's busiest time. The staff was COVID conscious and required masks over nose and mouth while in line. The back side of the mountain going to chairs 7 &11 is where the best powder is. We will definitely be back again.
Great Area, great snow

We travel here every year for the last 6 years. Great people and a great mountain. It's cold and foggy sometimes but the lines are short, the runs are not crowded, the snow is great, good food on the mountain and it's very economical.

My family and I have skied everywhere in Colorado and wanted something different, so we tried Whitefish. We won’t go back. It’s bone-chilling cold and cloudy/gloomy — the locals said sunny days are rare. The mountain is small and gets crowded, especially on the groomers — correction: on the groomed portions of runs, since most of the runs seemed to have moguls (which you can’t see in the flat gloomy light). The village is nonexistent so you have to drive into town or even into Kalispell if you need something or want to do something other than ski. We felt like we did the same few runs over and over. The kids (ages 4-16) were bored and cranky. Getting there isn’t hard but it isn’t easy. Overall, not worth it — we won’t be back!
People are nice
Cold, small, crowded, boring, moguls everywhere

We snowboarded at night on Feb 16/ 2020 and during the day on the 17th. Lots of fresh snow and the condition was great both during the day and night!
