A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
The terrain park was so sketchy last year jumps were poorly built and it took a super long time to open also with how small the park is it would be nice to have a rope tow
I also think kussy should open sooner
But overall it’s a good enough mountain glad to have it around

Re open a full run for only terrain park and stop cutting it short keep the beginners and carved out of park make it harder to enter park cause it was reckless last year

Modern European ski lifts, 1100 hundred feet of vertical, affordable lift tickets and nearby lodging, make this area on of the best in the central USA. This area has become my first day ski destination on my road trips out west. Try it you'll like it!

We drive from the midwest, with a stops in Sioux falls coming and going. We stay at the Tin Lizzy/Hampton in Deadwood, free parking, free breakfast, this room goes for 350 a night during bike week, but i paid 50 bucks a night, with 5th night free, under 300 total with tax. We are advanced skiers, that is over 70. 70 and over ski for 10 bucks. you pull your truck right to the lodge , drop off the wife, go park usually 3 rows back on level parking lot. We lockup the skis, go to the window , spend 80 bucks for 8 lift tickets. go inside and get a locker, put on boots and stuff. take a potty break, walk on level ground out our skis, and ski down a long green/ blue trail to the lift. several lifts take you up top to ski all day, then from the top take a run back to parking lot . did you notice ,no up hill walking all day, no polling all day, grooming was good, they are safety minded and will close a run or a lift if not safe. the two food and drink places are real good . the main lodge handy to beginners and the other more for black and blue skier. Deadwood and lead have several great bars and restaurants. So ,add up our trip , 250
Hampton sioux city, 300 hampton deadwood, 80 senior 8 tickets 400 gas , Total 1030 You can eat , drink, gamble all you want, but if your on a budget , try the 6 dollar salad bar or 6 dollar all you can eat soup bar right in your hotel, we watched the Super Bowl at tin lizzy sports bar and betting parlor. We wine tasted, and also beer tasted in Lead, Had pot roast at big AL`S . Great steaks and salmon in Deadwood. Live music sometimes. we have done the trip for several years. We spent less than 1500 on everything, HOW MUCH FUN CAN YOU HAVE FOR 750 BUCKS A PERSON.

Went with my teenage son for a day. The weather was great which meant it was super busy. The lift lines were a free for all and total chaos. My board took a huge beating here between the lift lines and unmarked rocks on the runs. The runs all felt very much the same as well. Some were more steep, some less steep, but all were more or less straight and open. We ended up cutting the day very short and won't bother making the drive again.

No it’s not like skiing the big resorts but who really wants to ski 3,500ft elevation in one run? I had a blast ripping turns on all of the blue and black runs at Terry Peak. Lines were short and the lifts are modern and fast. Ticket prices are cheaper than my Minnesota hills and the skiing is way better.

Learn to ski here. Good vibe can be crowded when terrain isn't open. Can be expensive if only 5 runs are open even with discount. But they are the only game around. If you find yourself near its automatic. If you find yourself in a car and five or more hours longer ride to a destination. You have a decision to make. Pick well.

This is one of the most afforable resorts. Lift tickets, food, and drinks are so afforable. No $18 dollar hamburgers here like at other ski resorts. My family enjoyed it. Staff is friendly. Only issue was four runs were unavaible because one lift only runs Friday to Monday.
